Simon brings a wealth of experience spanning over four decades in the financial markets to the Aksys Global Markets team. He is a highly seasoned banking and financial services professional with a global perspective, having conducted trades in major currency pairs while working for esteemed financial institutions in key financial hubs such as London, New York, and Tokyo.
One of Simon's noteworthy achievements occurred in 1992 when he introduced FX options to the Bank of Scotland. He not only authored the trading book but also executed trades with a diverse clientele, ranging from FTSE100 companies and financial institutions to Ultra High Net Worth individuals. This introduction of currency options at that time was innovative and groundbreaking.
Subsequently, Simon took on a leadership role, successfully managing a Financial Wealth team responsible for delivering Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Derivative products to clients of HBOS and Lloyds.
In recognition of his exceptional knowledge and expertise, Simon received an award in 2013 at the London Mansion House for achieving the highest scores in a global Derivatives exam. His achievement led the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) to invite Simon to sit on a panel tasked with advising and developing Level 3 and 4 exams.
Simon is well-versed in developing and implementing strategies and solutions to minimize exposure to the world's financial markets. This ability is underscored by his extensive tenure working for some of the world's most prestigious banks.
In 2017, Simon applied his managerial skills while working with a high-level team at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The level of trust and security required for this engagement, by Her Majesty's government, attests to Simon's lifelong credibility, confidentiality, and integrity.
Beyond his financial career, Simon has generously devoted his time and expertise to helping others enhance their skills. In recent years, he provided training and examinations for a team of over 100 volunteer marshals at the Yas Marina race circuit in Abu Dhabi. This training brought the team up to the standards required by the FIA, earning recognition for creating one of the most successful Pit Lane and Grid teams in motor racing.
